Study: SEPTA financially strapped

A SEPTA-commissioned study revealed the financially strapped transit company supports nearly 26,000 jobs, contributes $3.21 billion in economic output and generates $62.5 million in state tax revenue. Paul Nussbaum of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports, however, that SEPTA is seeking fare increases and is lobbying for more funding from state officials.
