PenTrans in partnership with the Engineer’s Club of Philadelphia and WTS hosted the Advancing the 30th Street Station District event on October 19, 2016. With over 100 people in attendance, the event discussed the unique opportunity Philadelphia has been given to create a world-class neighborhood around 30th Street Station, in June 2017 with the completion of Amtrak’s Philadelphia 30th Street District Plan.

Their discussion spanned from topics surrounding 30th Street Station to Drexel University’s and Brandywine Realty Trust’s Schuylkill Yards Innovation to the Navy Yard to comparisons between the 30th Street Station District and Hudson Yards in New York City. The discussion both engaged the panel and the audience in the exchange of perspectives. The evening closed with a Q&A between panelists and the audience and closing remarks regarding the future of PenTrans in 2017 were made by ESI President and Principal, Richard Voith.
