This Friday, October 23, 2015, Dick Voith, president and principal of ESI gave a presentation on the changing landscape of economic development at Drexel University. The presentation discussed urban decline in the 1950’s, and how basic economic forces drove people back to cities in the 1990’s. Voith then described Philadelphia’s financial troubles in the early 90’s and how ESI became involved in adressing the cities’ tax structure in 2003. He concluded the presentation by explaining Philadelphia’s key issues and opportunities for economic development in the area, and ended with a question and answer session.
