His article, Demographic Multipliers: Data Mining & Measuring Development Impacts, reports on recent advances made by ESI’s Community Data Analytics team in providing the best demographic multipliers for leaders to assess how a new development will impact their community and affect fiscal costs and revenues.
FIA is an important tool that help leaders make better informed decisions within communities. Unfortunately, many FIAs are based on out-of-date information that lacks sufficient data to support sound planning decisions.
By using Public Use Microdata Sample (PUMS) records, Community Data Analytics has been able to show how demographic multipliers can support fiscal impact analysis in new and more reliable ways with the most current data available.
