Adam Hicks is a senior analyst at ESI, where he applies quantitative methods across a wide range of subject areas, including transportation and infrastructure, public policy, and litigation support. He takes a data-centric approach to deliver empirically grounded outcomes for clients, combining technical rigor with practical insight. Through his work, Adam supports well-informed decision-making for public, private, and nonprofit organizations.
Adam has served local policymakers through his evidence-based methodology. He has calculated the value of transit in the Greater Philadelphia region and estimated the effects of federal legislation on Philadelphia’s Community Behavioral Health. Beyond the Philadelphia region, he has analyzed state retirement savings initiatives, assessed the contribution of small businesses to U.S. Gross Domestic Product, conducted market feasibility studies for developers and planning institutions, evaluated the economic impact of tourism for county authorities, and prepared pro forma revenue analyses for private and public organizations.
Adam complements his analytical work with strong technical expertise, applying programming tools such as R and Python to design client-facing tools that provide enhanced insights and usability. He earned a Bachelor of Science in mathematics and economics from the University of Pittsburgh, where he was a Brackenridge Fellow and a Painter Fellow, conducting independent research in economics and mathematics. In recognition of his academic achievement, he received the Asher Issacs Prize in Economics, awarded to a single graduate deemed the best in class.
