Job Description
Our firm is seeking a Director who will support the efforts of the firm in the following ways:
- Direct or co-direct small working teams of analysts towards the fulfillment of work engagements and the completion of work deliverables
- Set or collaborate on the intellectual and analytical direction of work engagements
- Work with principals, other directors, and analysts to ensure that individual components of work engagements are completed correctly and on schedule and that they are suitably coordinated
- Take the lead on assembling, writing, and finalizing work deliverables
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients in terms of analytical components and work deliverables
- Conduct econometric, statistical, spatial, and other analyses of economic, financial and demographic data
- Create and manipulate spreadsheets for economic and fiscal modeling
- Work with principals and Business Development and Marketing Department to identify business development opportunities, promote the firm, and secure new engagements
- Work with principals to recruit, screen, select, orient, manage, and develop analysts
- Represent the firm at conferences, networking functions, and other public events
- Some previous experience in managing people, projects, and processes
- Strong writing skills, especially as it relates to conveying complex quantitative analyses and policy concepts in simple terms
- Strong client management skills
- Competence in spreadsheet modeling, cost/benefit analysis, and regression analysis
- Basic working knowledge of STATA and SAS
- Competence in working with large datasets
- Competence in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Competence in Geographic Information Systems (e.g. ArcView GIS) and in spatial analysis techniques (helpful)
- Ability to thrive in collaborative, project-oriented setting with small groups of professionals
- Master’s level degree and/or current enrollment in doctoral program in any of the following majors: Economics, other Social Sciences, Public Administration, Statistics, Mathematics
- Some technical and policy research experience
- Familiarity with how local and regional economies function

Job Description
Our firm is seeking a Marketing Assistant who will support the efforts of the Marketing and Business Development Department in the following ways:
- Assist the Business Development and Marketing department with identifying, vetting, compiling, and writing proposals;
- Assist with the production and update of business documents and marketing materials (both print and website, including but not limited to staff resumes, business lines promotional copy writing, editing, image editing, project summaries, presentations, press releases, promotional videos);
- Compile and compose email marketing campaigns, including monthly newsletter;
- Assist with compiling and posting content on the firms’ social media platforms;
- Maintaining communications calendar;
- Compile and report on website, email campaign, and social media analytics;
- Maintain media relations;
- Help coordinate the senior advisors network;
- Inform principals and staff of relevant market intel and media exposure on a routine basis;
- Track and monitor calendar of events, including sponsorships, speaking opportunities and engagements, networking opportunities, professional development opportunities;
- Research market trends and new business development and marketing opportunities;
- Draft and edit presentations, advertisements, and visuals related to business opportunities
- Maintain departmental filing and tracking systems
- Assist the Business Development and Marketing team with Implementation of marketing initiatives for ESI’s joint ventures and strategic initiatives;
- Help develop events, seminars, workshops, webinars, and content for same.
- Assist with other ongoing tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Problem solving skills, proactive attitude and advanced research skills;
- Self-starter, internally motivated; detail oriented
- Strong organizational and time management skills, ability to multi-task, prioritize and work under pressure and to tightdeadlines;
- Excellent writing and strong copyediting skills;
- Strong competence in Microsoft Office applications, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Teams;
- Knowledge in database systems, website content management (WordPress) formatting and/or coding (basic HTML skills), email campaign management (Constant Contact) and social media tools (Hootsuite, Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook);
- Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite: Premiere Pro, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat;
- Familiarity with stock photo and video searching, editing, primarily for web publishing.
