Five years into the Sustainable Business Network (SBN) of Greater Philadelphia’s innovative project, Green City, Clean Waters, we have already seen major developments and success. The project utilizes green infrastructure to reduce stormwater pollution. Not only does this project produce positive environmental and sustainable impacts, but as well supports job growth in the city.

Econsult Solutions, Inc. (ESI) Vice President and Principal, Lee Huang, as well as SBN Project Manager, Anna Shipp, sat down to discuss the progress they have seen thus far with the project, focusing on the economic impacts, specifically job support, of investing in green infrastructure. As detailed in the recent report, Green City, Clean Waters: The First Five Years, the project had a significant economic impact on the City of Philadelphia in 2014, with $57 million in total economic impact, and 430 job supported. The project provides jobs across many different sectors and at a variety of employment entry points.
