Senior Advisors Steven Nelson and Sidney Wong, along with Sr. Vice President and Principal, Peter Angelides, will be presenting at the PA Chapter of the American Planning Association Annual Conference on Tuesday, October 18, 2016.
Fiscal impact analysis, a prominent planning tool used to evaluate development and redevelopment proposals, has not evolved greatly since the publication of the 1978 Fiscal Impact Handbook. This session provides practitioners’ and researchers’ new insights to reconceive and reimagine fiscal impacts and the ability to develop localized demographic multipliers from the annually released ACS-PUMS data. It will discuss methodological improvements, new and geographically-specific data, best practice, and a new application: the “reverse” fiscal impact analysis, used to evaluate buy-outs and acquisition proposals in disaster prone area.
