Econsult Solutions, Inc. is pleased to announce the return of Rebecca DeJoseph as Vice President for Talent Development. From 2017 to 2023 she held various roles with the firm, including Vice President and Senior Economist, Director, and Senior Research Analyst. In 2023, she spent time at PFM as Lead Economist, where she supported local governments on workforce-related issues.
Rebecca is well trained in economics and applies critical economic thinking and analysis to complex projects in economic development, workforce development, and public policy. She has experience and expertise in a wide range of disciplines that she has applied to a variety of projects that include evaluating the workforce constraints due to the “cliff effect” in New Hampshire, modeling the future workforce needs of the emerging cell and gene therapy sector in Philadelphia, and analyzing the economic impact of Agriculture in Pennsylvania.
Welcome back to ESI! What are you looking forward to working on in your new role here?
I am so excited to be back! I believe it’s important to explore new opportunities, and I had a wonderful experience during my year away. However, I realized just how much I missed the work, the collaborative environment, and most of all, the incredible people at ESI. The unique combination of innovative projects and the sense of camaraderie here is something I truly value, and I’m thrilled to rejoin the team with fresh perspectives and renewed energy.
Additionally, I’m looking forward to diving back into the type of work that I love—particularly in economic development, workforce development, and public policy. These areas have always been my passion, and I’m eager to continue working in these fields while leveraging the strong, collaborative spirit that makes ESI such a special place to work.
You are now Vice President for Talent Development. What does that mean for your role in the firm and the evolution of the firm overall?
It means I have the pleasure of ensuring we fully leverage the incredible talent we have at ESI. We have an exceptional group of analysts and senior analysts who bring fresh perspectives, innovative problem-solving approaches, and proficiency with new technologies and skills. At the same time, we have a senior leadership team with decades of experience and deep expertise in their fields.
My role is to help facilitate the integration of these two groups—ensuring that the experience and wisdom of our senior leaders are effectively shared while empowering our analysts to apply their new skills and ideas to drive innovation. I believe this is key to ESI’s continued growth and evolution. Ultimately, my goal is to help create an environment where people at all levels feel empowered to contribute, develop, and lead within ESI.
What excites you about your new position?
What excites me most about my new position is the opportunity to directly impact the growth and development of our people. Being able to work closely with such a talented and diverse group of individuals gives me the chance to help shape how we continue to evolve as a firm.
What do you enjoy most about ESI?
What I enjoy most is the incredible group of people I get to work with every day. Everyone here is hardworking, thoughtful, and smart, which creates an environment where high-quality work is the standard. The dedication and intelligence of the team make problem-solving and tackling complex projects exciting. It’s not just about getting the job done; it’s about doing it in a way that’s thoughtful and impactful.
