Bureau of Justice Assistance Announces New Awardees of Neighborhood Revitalization Grant at Drexel

A team led by Dr. Robert Stokes, an associate professor of sociology in Drexel’s College of Arts and Sciences, was one of 15 nationwide awardees of the grant last year. The three-year, $600,000 community crime prevention planning grant in collaboration with the Mouth Vernon Manor Inc. and We Are Mantua Groups focuses on building capacity for community planning in Mantua while supporting both civic programming and policing innovations in the community.

As the research partner for the Philadelphia BCJI, Stokes will speak on Wednesday, Sept. 11, at 4 p.m. in 302 Bossone Research Center (3140 Market Street) about the increasing recognition of place-based, evidence-supported policy and planning practices for crime prevention in urban communities.>Read more here.
