ESI president and principal Stephen P. Mullin will present at the World Heritage Symposium on October 8th, 2015. Mr. Mullin will speak about the tangible and intangible benefits of Philadelphia becoming a World Heritage City.
In late 2013, Philadelphia was granted the status of an Observer Member of the Organization of World Heritage Cities thanks to Independence Hall being denoted as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This honor was made possible due to the combined efforts of the Global Philadelphia Association and the City of Philadelphia.
Becoming a World Heritage City is a unique privilege that internationally recognizes the city for its rich and distinguishable history and culture and would be a great opportunity for Philadelphia to increase its cultural footprint at the international level.
