Jane Yan is a senior analyst at ESI, where she supports economic impact analysis, financial feasibility studies, and strategic advisory work for public sector agencies, healthcare systems, cultural institutions, and mission-driven organizations. With experience spanning both institutional finance and applied economic consulting, she brings a unique perspective to a wide array of investment and policy questions.
Jane specializes in work focused on economic development feasibility, impact analyses, and tax credit advisory services. She has supported a diverse portfolio of engagements, from cultural and arts institutions, to healthcare providers, and catalytic redevelopment projects, helping clients quantify economic value, assess return on investment, and position projects for public funding and incentive programs. Her work frequently integrates policy analysis, market research, and spatial data techniques to translate regional economic dynamics into practical, decision-ready recommendations.
In addition to impact modeling, Jane contributes to broader advisory services that include pro forma analysis, scenario testing, and strategic positioning for public-private partnerships and incentive applications. She plays a role in preparing tax credit submissions and other competitive funding applications, where analytical precision and clear narrative framing are equally critical.
Prior to joining ESI, she worked at State Street Global Advisors, in a team that focused on developing the firm’s securities lending strategy, oversight, and business development initiatives, which spanned multiple asset classes across a wide range of investment products classifications. She also has experience working on a risk analytics team focused on stress testing and executing the firm’s portion of the Federal Reserve Board’s Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review. Her roles in finance combined the ability to synthesize data and transform it into salient stories and documents for clients.
Jane earned a Master of Science in Economics from University College London, where her research focused on the economics of health and insurance markets, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with a minor in English. She enjoys translating quantitative analysis into clear narratives for audiences ranging from technical analysts and institutional executives to public sector leaders and community partners, ensuring that data informs decisions and drives meaningful outcomes.
